I received this lovely floral jacket today from a sweet older sister in the ward. She drove to my house and was so excited to give it to me. She said that it didn't fit her anymore and wanted to find someone to give it to. She thought of me because she said my coloring would look so good with the floral "Autumn color pallet" of the jacket. I tried it on and it fit perfectly! You should have seen the smile on this sister's face. PRICELESS!
So the question is do I wear it to church to make her day? I don't know how I can't now!!! Anyway I just wanted to share this with you all, I thought it was so great!
Our dog is still gone! The kids really haven't said much about it so at this point I think our dog days are over yippee! I just hope he found a good home, one that he can't escape from.

Oh bummer about your dog missing---NOT! Hopefully he wont turn up when you have gotten rid of all of its stuff.

i say, you just wear it. make it as cute as you can, and just wear it like you just bought it at the store yourself and think it is the cutest thing. maybe a cute belt or necklace...i don't know. as long as it is with pride.
as for the dog, i hope he didn't get run over or is starving to death or something! sorry, I'm a dog fan...i guess i just always grew up with one in the house. if it was a cat, i'd say, "too bad he didn't run away sooner."

The jacket is quite the score!Hehehe. THis is a huge toss up. I like you moms comment about putting it on during RS but it could just get too hot. That is so funny she thought to give it away instead of giving it to DI.
Sorry about the dog. YOu were good to get one in the first place. My kids know no animals. At least while we have diapers in the house. I am hoping it will keep them from asking ever!!

What a cute lady, I can just picture her excitement. But the funny thing is that she thought someone in their 30's would have the same taste as someone in their 70's.

I actually think you make the jacket look pretty cute. I bet you could pull it off during Sacrament meeting this fall without people thinking too much. They'll probably think it's the latest trend b/c you make it cute. If you don't want to do that, send her a really nice thank you note telling her you wore it somewhere (doesn't have to be church!).
I think that's a hard call. On one hand you don't want to hurt her feelings........
We are considering a dog. Should I rethink this thing?? Or am I just nuts? How are your kids handling it?
Tough one! Could you maybe wear a shirt that looks like you wore it to match the jacket, and put the jacket over your arm? :) Just a thought..hee hee! Ohh, the poor dog! I hope it found another home!

That is so sweet of her - it's always so funny when the RS Ladies "think of you". Last week I had one "think of me" at 8AM and called to tell me that 'powdered milk' prices were going up soon. Normally 8am isn't bad - when school is in, but a lazy summer morning - it was pretty early!

I'm so relieved that the jacket came from an older lady (so sweet of her to think of you!). I saw the picture and gasped out loud. I know you have good style, but sometimes the retro fashions I see are heinous, but fashionable people wear them, so I had a moment of panic.
If you do wear it to church promise you'll take pictures.
Love the Jacket!!! My mom and I laughed for a good ten minutes. She got a treasure this week as well from a new couple in her ward. It is a dimond tiger brouche that takes up about half her chest. She too will be styling it to please the happy couple on there precious gift! Gotta love stuff like this!
